Jimoh Ibrahim Does Not Own Newswatch – Ex-directors


Former Directors of Newswatch Communications Limited, publishers of the defunct Newswatch magazine, have debunked the claim by millionaire businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim, that he owns Newswatch.
This was contained in a statement signed by all the former Directors: Ray Ekpu, Dan Agbese, Yakubu Mohammed and Soji Akinrinade.
The statement, dated October 31, said Ibrahim had planted a story in several newspapers about a court ruling on March 27, 2017, which is being contested by two of the shareholders of the company, Nuhu Wada Aruwa and Prof. Jibril Aminu.

EFCC Detains Ex-Governor Suswam Over Diezani Alison-Madueke’s N23bn Bribe


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday detained a former governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, for his alleged role in the disbursement of N23bn which emanated from a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The EFCC spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said on the telephone that Suswam, who was governor between 2007 and 2015, was invited by the commission and was still in custody as of 7pm on Thursday.

A 37 year old man, Agu Echezona Harrison, has been remanded in prison custody by an Ikeja High Court, Lagos for sexually assaulting his 6-year-old daughter, by allegedly inserting his fingers into her vagina.

Harrison was arraigned on a one count charge of sexual assault.
The prosecuting officer, Adebayo Haroun, told the Court that the accused committed the offence between 2013 and 2015 at No. 23 Rotimi Omotosho Street, Isheri Osun.
Akukwe Priscilla, Harrison’s wife, who reported the case to the police, said that the defendant was fond of touching the little girl’s private part.
According to her, she noticed an offensive odour oozing out of her daughter’s private part with frequent whitish discharge.
